He formed the ensemble Brian 's Oblivion Express who are one of the greatest bands of jazz-rock fusion. They blew away the Fur Peace Station concert hall a couple of years back when Jorma joined them for a concert May 11, 2014. Since the beginning of April Rock and Roll Hall Inductee, guitar legend, Jorma Kaukonen has been entertaining the world with free Livestream concerts on YouTube from his Fur Peace Ranch in the countryside near Athens, Ohio. Due to Jorma’s and Vanessa’s guitar camp concert hall, the Fur Peace Station, the sound of these livestreams, engineered by Myron Hart, is excellent and the filming, by award winning director Andie Walla, make them a joy to watch.
In a career that has already spanned sixty years, guitarist and vocalist, Jorma Kaukonen has been one of the most highly respected interpreters of American roots music, blues, and Americana, and at the forefront of popular rock-and-roll. A member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and a Grammy recipient, he is a founding member of two legendary bands, San Francisco’s ‘60’s band, Jefferson Airplane and the still-touring Hot Tuna. Jorma Kaukonen’s repertoire goes far beyond his involvement creating psychedelic rock; he is a legend; a fine singer-songwriter and “A master in situ, unfurling melodies and savoring every note,” – Rolling Stone Magazine.
